FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

WHO CAN SIGN-UP?

Any school or youth organisation with young people between 10 to 25 years old can sign up. Unfortunately individual use of this service is not available at this stage.

WHAT AGE GROUP IS THE WELL-BEING PROFILER APPROPRIATE FOR?

The Well-being Profiler is appropriate for young people between 10 to 25 years old.

WHAT RESEARCH IS THE WELL-BEING PROFILER BASED ON?

The development of The Well-being Profiler is based on current scientific knowledge and experience with youth research. Read Science Background to find out more.

HOW MUCH TIME WILL BE INVOLVED?

The administration of the standard survey will take approximately 30 minutes per sitting. This is a relatively quick measurement process as compared to laborious testing methods so that schools can fit this whenever convenient in their busy schedule.

HOW SOON CAN SCHOOLS RECEIVE THE REPORT AFTER COMPLETION OF THE WELL- BEING PROFILER?

The Well-being Profiler report will be available within 2 weeks of completing the questionnaire. For a sample of the report, please contact us.

WILL THE INFORMATION PROVIDED BE SECURED AND CONFIDENTIAL?

We intend to protect your school’s anonymity and the confidentiality of your schools’ responses to the fullest possible extent, within the limits of the law. Students’ responses will be kept in a secured password-protected online database and any computer file containing their responses will also be password-protected. In addition, only group or aggregate data will be reported, and therefore individual student responses will remain confidential.

HOW LONG WILL SURVEY RESPONSES BE STORED?

Storage of the data collected will adhere to the University of Melbourne Ethics regulations and kept on University premises in a locked cupboard/filing cabinet and on a computer disk for 5 years from the date of publication, before being destroyed.

WHAT IS REQUIRED FROM SCHOOLS?

Schools are required to agree to the Terms and Conditions of use when signing up to The Well-being Profiler. School Principals are also required to provide consent as per the agreement to use The Well-being Profiler to collect data from students. Contact us for more details.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO USE THE WELL-BEING PROFILER?

Limited annual subscriptions for this service are still available. Please contact us for more information.

IS IT COMPULSORY FOR STUDENTS TO COMPLETE THE WELL-BEING PROFILER?

No schools should force its students to undertake The Well-being Profiler. Schools have the responsibility to inform parents and students about administering The Well-being Profiler in schools. Parents and students who do not wish to participate should be provided with the option of opting out.

WILL THE REPORT BE AVAILABLE TO STUDENTS?

Your school will be provided with an electronic copy of the aggregate Profiler report and it is up to your school to decide if the report is made available to students and their parents. All costs related to distribution of the results will not be covered by The Well-being Profiler service provider.
